Networking in Shipping Industry
Dear Friends and Business Partners,

A few weeks ago a partner passed me the information about openvessel.net a shipping portal. On the one hand a bit similar to what facebook and others provide on the other totally different.
The platform is exclusivly focussing on shipping business and related industries, from forwarder to engneering company. Furthermore its a combination of a networking platform combined with company profiles and a real strong port database. So it’s a mixture of a personal network and a company and port wiki.

I think it’s a real interesting concept and having in mind that our industry is one of the most important ones worlwide plus concidering what happens right now worldwide its def an idea that we should all give a try.

The concept is real cool, its free of charge .. so why not to support it? Even if it doesn’t have the size of other non fucussed ones yet – we are the stronget community worldwide – there is no other branch having this strong hold, these close relationships and no other business that is that much driven face to face.

In this matter I can only speek for BBC Chartering – from our side this concept gets full support – and I would kindly ask you all to do the same. And to promote the idea and the page within your company, partners and network.

The more people and companies join the higher the quality gets - hope to see you all on openvessel.net

yes youre right could be more (now abt 400 i think) what do you think about this MEM - maritime economical monitor?

think there is no "premium membership" for me it looks like its all for free - beside the fact that there is not that much ;)

i send them a mail to ideas@ and they came back that they are permanently working on the system and that there will be some new feature soon

Hello all,
did someone look into this network recently? Do You think, it is also usefull for companies like ours (Automation Safety Systems - Oil Mist Detection)?
I don't want to register without any effort.
