    Give-to-Get or Take-to-Get-even-More?
Yesterday I received an message, and a few interesting questions concerning the SICU Synergy Solutions Group (SICU SSG) from, "JP", one of my global contacts and good friends. JP became one of my most important sparring partners in no time, in the process to generate new ideas, and to develop the SICU SSG Idea and Concept.

His message assured me about that he is seriously interested and prepared to commit himself to help, and support the business idea and concept to be developed into something exceptional, and to utilize it on a "glocal" basis (Think global, act local).

In this phase one could ask why? On what grounds is his motivation based upon? Why should anyone want to become involved in SICU SSG as an affiliated partner, and even pay a fundamental fee for it? What's the idea to invest time and resources into something nobody really knows what it ends up with in a longer run?

As I've perceived it, one of JP's foremost objectives is to strengthen the globalization efforts to support his activities even internationally, and to support each global partner of SICU to reach their goals in the spirit of Give-to-Get.

Sharing and caring for each other (Give-to-Get) is something many of us affiliates has to learn a lot about, cause most of us humans are unfortunately more or less "Take-to-Get-even-More" kind of people. I think each of us should, every now and then, think about to which category one belong to. How about you?

On the other side, I'm sure that all affiliates and global partners who are willing to commit themselves to support the development, and to utilize SICU as a "visit card" and tool in their business and internationalization efforts, will learn quite soon how to utilize the concept even in concrete.

As it's obvious that there are people who will newer get the idea, I see that he/she doesn't simply belong to the global "SICU Family".

When someone asks me what I do for my living, I usually can't tell. If I have to, I use to say that I'm not working at all, but having fun by putting my mobile head office IN BETWEEN anything I see or feel, to be able to CONNECT THE UNCONNECTED in a way everybody will benefit from. By getting more money and leisure time, I think everyone of us is more than happy to pay for.

This is how I like to think and act, though the last sentence seems too often to be more or less a dream, especially in the very beginning of various processes.

The fact is simply that there are more “Take to Get even More" kind of people than people who follows the concept of "Give-to-Get", which is the major idea I personally follow and trust in.

New ideas can be scary, but sitting on them and never doing anything with them is a terrible waste, to achieve your dream business you will have to take action regardless of are you making money in the first place or not, as it is and should be about investing in the future.

Why should one take a risk?

When you leap into the unknown things happen. You must be ready to take risks and have faith that you can handle the outcome. Starting a small or larger business is always a risk, but if you have a great idea you believe in, and work at it your business can be a great success.

This is what I believe in, though there are an amount of people around me who think that I'm nuts, when I show that I'm following these guidelines even in concrete, (“even when I’m suffering of hunger"), to develop SICU SSG in order to create something exceptional. This is at least my/our major objective, and I think it’s the goal of an amount of committed global partners of mine.

It's all about of a learning process as I mentioned before. If someone doesn’t get it even in a period of time, I'm not going to give him/her anything else than boot, as I think he/she doesn't belong to he "SICU Family".

Finally I have to admit that my closest friends and collaboration partners thinks that I'm a "creatively crazy" guy, whose way of working is most unconventional.

That is: When I get an idea and decide to develop and execute it, I do not think about money in the first place. There are an amount of divergent projects I've been working on for months without getting any income at all. WOLF in Culture at http://www.Sicusynergy.org/Wolf1.htm is a good example, but I'm quite sure I'll execute it one sunny day even outside Finland as a SICU Project, Event and/or as a Tour Event, in a way all affiliated partners involved will benefit from.

It's really hard to tell in which direction SICU will evolve, but the starting point of mine is to build-up and develop an open and flexible framework within which all SICU affiliates, global partners and professional experts around the world can connect, operate, interact, and receive support from each other.

It's all about of a self-organizing, self-regulating virtual organization, about an open flexible and multifunctional marketing and management "agency" operating both "glocally" and globally through affiliated organizations and global partners (individuals) located all over the world.

In this framework I see myself as the founder, who owns the copyright of the SICU (Synergy Integrated - Connects the Unconnected) name, sloogan and concept, and as the founder of, and as the Marketing Integrator and Communication Coordinator of SICU SSG.

SICU is my main current project, I've invested an enormous amount of work hours (=money), and it naturally is, as it's the registered marketing name of my company and core business in the first place.

Secondly SICU SSG represents our group of affiliates and partners to be perceived as a project of ours, and processed as a global think tank and a service cluster team => a global structure and a project organisation, which is mutual property of all affiliates who are committed (paying the fee, following the guidelines and being active = commitment)

In other words, as SICU represents the company and core business I run, it can be compared with any of the businesses you as an existing or as a new potential affiliate of SICU SSG represent. It has been created to support the single core businesses we represent, and all of them together as a whole.

The idea of an organisation, seen and operated as a project and vice versa (project as an organisation), is in fact very interesting, even fascinating.

I would love to hear your comments about this, and I truly hope that you all would become my sparring partners for the benefit of all of us.

Think, do and make it happen!

    TOM

One note about the fee: As Francois E. Aubert representing SICU SSG GENEVA put it yesterday in his message...

"I like the way you are putting it. Yes, EUR 125 represents only 1/2 hour fee, while I spend much more time networking (I strongly believe in the give to get principle)".

It's a question of a nominal but a fundamental fee nobody can live or compensate anything compared with the work I've done to get the process started and mobilized.

NOTE: The Finnish word SISU ("SICU") is a conception. SISU (Sauna & Sibelius) is a central part of the Finnish national identity. It is an ability to get things done, describing staying power, will power of iron and decisiveness to get things done even against impossible odds (e.g. Soviet-Finnish Winter War 1939-1940). SISU stands also for guts, spirit, balls and courage.

    Re: Give-to-Get or Take-to-Get-even-More?
To me SICU has been the best educational tool and also gives a drive and a belief.

It not only inspires but leaves us all with a sense to continue as like-minds who associate with the same radiate the same.

That is down to the capabilities of Mr Tom Merilahti.

    He is a genuine product.

    Thank you Tom.

    With kindest regards,
    Fazila
