Though fostering the idea and concept of Give-to-Get is like fighting against windmills, it's still one of the most effective ways to increase the quality of our online communities and opportunities for new business.
Weather we are speaking about branded online communities or about your individual networks, the most important is to PROTECT our fellow members from scammers and spammers, and from people trying to misuse our goodwill. Today 380 members have been suspended from SICU.
As a very good example... The leading artist Mona Youssef of SICU ART & DESIGN writes today in her Global Artist Communications (GAC) here on XING:
News and Serious Warning for Artists
"A caring friend and a member of our group, John Wieser, has got my attention to this serious scam and I too wish to share it with you so that you will be EXTRA careful not to get involved. If you receive the following message / invitation to participate, please keep away and be safe".

We have the Strength
Though most communities aims to be an entirely transparent, WE have the strength to protect our rights as well. If someone is "clever" enough to spread scam, to break a contract or trespass on intellectual property and copyrights, just one word and "millions" of people will become to know about it as long as we follow the idea of One for all, All for One!
Think about it!
Just to give youi an example, I've have 7 286 direct contacts, 1 420,498 contacts of my contacts and 3 241,068 3rd level contacts, and a SICU SSG and Helsinki Connection group on XING, 1 600 direct contacts on LinkedIn, 1 300 on Plaxo, 1 200 on Facebook... I'm a member of about 130 Ning networks, have SICU SSG's and Helsinki Connection on many platforms, am a member of an amount of special groups and so forth...
Multiply this with all of our contacts and groups we as fellow members have. Think about how much harm we can cause by putting the djungle drums in effect to spread the word about e.g. a "genius" who has violated our copyright or other rights....
I would not have the balls to do it!
Would you?
