Verena,
Do you mean ski trips organised by a company/organisation or simply ski destinations?

Leo,
I mean destinations for ski tours where you have special touring skis with skins to hike up - this usually is off-piste.

Verena,
Skiing with skins (peau de phoque) is usually called ski de randonée in French. I'm a snowboarder myself but have some friends that do a lot of that around Martigny, in Switzerland.
For places within a couple of hours from Geneva, check out destinations in regions 19, 20, 21, 25 in the link below (it also has some routes in English if you don't speak French):

or for the Jura:

The are a number of routes available, depending on your skill level - for a starting low fuss, nearby place you could try something around la Dole, in the Jura (approx. 30 or so mins from Geneva).
Let me know how it goes if you ever try it out!
Cheers,
Leo

Hi Verena
Mmmm... 2 hours from Geneva is a large area. I know the Chamonix Valley really well and there is a really great guide book for day tours of all grades. Also there is a new guide out for the Chain D'Aravis which looks fantastic terrain with circular and linear routes. Thats where I intend to explore next. Otherwise - done the Chamonix to Zermat (on a snowboard) & the Zermat 4000 ers if anyone wants info. alun@uniquesolutions.co.uk or alun@radicalfish.eu
