    Who is Cathy Dharnen?
    Hi there, it's me - the total noob. I have tried for a while, NOT to join Second Life, as I have a very obsessive personlaity in regards to virtual worlds. I caved in and finally joined up 2 days ago. My first session lasted 5 hours, until 3 in the morning. I was still shaking my head 3 hours later, wenn I fought my way out of bed to go to work.

    As of last night I left Help Island and entered the mainland at the Isabel Infohub. I am planning to take it slow and do some classes, to get to know my way around a little. Two of my weblogging friends at http://www.livejournal.com are also on SL and I already friended them, but I am now obvioulsy on the look-out for more contacts in SL.

    For now I just want to explore, meet friends, play some games and have a little fun. But I am intrigued by the marketing and business opportunities in SL, as well as virtual learning and all the myriad of other possibilities that are opening up. So I am planning to keep an open mind and will see, where that leads me.

    Wer ist Cathy Dharnen?
    Hallo, ich bin's, der voellige noob. Ich versuche seit einiger Zeit, NICHT Mitglied von Second Life zu werden, da ich im Bezug auf virtuelle Welten zur Besessenheit neige. Ich habe mittlerweile kapituliert und mich vor 2 Tagen angemeldet. Meine erste Sitzung hat 5 Stunden gedauert, bis 3 Uhr frueh. Ich habe 3 Stunden spaeter immer noch den Kopf geschuettelt, als ich mich aus dem Bett gequaelt habe um zur Arbeit zu gehen.

    Letzte Nacht habe ich Help Island verlassen und bin zum Mainland teleportiert, zu m Isabel Infohub. Ich werde es langsam angehen lassen und ein Paar Klassen nehmen, bis ich mich ein bischen beser auskenne. Zwei meiner Freunde bei http://www.livejournal.com sind auch im SL und wir sind dort schon Freunde, aber ich bin jetzt natuerlich auf der Suche nach mehr Kontakten.

    Im Moment moechte ich SL erst mal nur erforschen, neue Leute treffen, ein bischen spielen und Spass haben. Aber ich bin fasziniert von den Marketing- und Geschaeftsmoeglichkeiten in SL und all der anderen Nutzen, wie zum Beispiel virtuelles Lernen. Ich werde versuchen, offen zu bleiben und mich ueberraschen lassen, wohin das fuehrt.
