How Social Networks can drive your business
While Germany is playing the fith time in World Cup history the "little final" against Uruguay I found some time to Google and wanted to share this with you:

So enjoy both your summer vacations and the World-Cup final tomorrow where we will have a first time World-Cup winner for sure as neither the Netherland nor Spain ever won it.

Thanks for sharing this link. When I read the article I had to comment though.

So here we have somebody who is trying to tell us how to drive traffic through social networks, great but whilst I like traffic, I love sales and as a matter of fact, you and I both agree that is the only thing that affects your bottom line.

And whilst Adidas is trying hard to leverage Spain's win to make up lost ground due to Nike's smart guerilla marketing, it is all about sales and brand recognition

Also, the blog post you linked to does not allow one to leave a comment. I always thought social media was a good way to improve engagement with one's clients. Closing down the comment feature, however, does not look like the people who posted "how to leverage social networks" really know how social media works?
Maybe I am a bit naive...

We have a coffee break webinar series where we address this from a hands-on approach (metrics that affect your bottom line - too much data - how to make sense out of it), you can listen to the podcasts and download the slides at:

Anyway, the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa tournament is over and we probably all enjoyed some games and hated others. Now it is back to the trenches.

    Thanks for sharing.

Re^2: How Social Networks can drive your business
Social network strategies and key points are missing in this article, which leads me to think, this article was not directed at people within the social media marketing network.

I agree with the basic outline of the 3 area, video, twitter, facebook. Depending on the strategy used for the first two, traffic can have a certain quality. Giving the nature of the article itself, readers of this article might just wish to gain a basic understanding of the term "social network marketing".

Thanks for replying. Yes I agree fully that using of social media really depends on the context (e.g., type of industry, size of firm, or country located in) as well as on the type of product (consumer versus capital product or services).

There are some critical points and essentials to consider and sometimes less is worth more.

I have started a list of blog posts addressing this issue including some of the trends for 2011. The first one has been published and several more will follower during next weekend:
