    Netbackup 6.0 MP4 und Exchange 2003 SP2
    Hallo zusammen

    ich habe im Netbackup das Problem, dass ich Mailboxen, die keinen Useraccount mehr zugwiesen haben (z.B. Mitarbeiter ist ausgetreten) nicht mehr sichern kann. Ich bekomme dann die Meldung

    from client bentley: WRN - unable to successfully enumerate folder: Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes:\Streich Uwe [org~1cn=exchange~1cn=bankcoop~1cn=lot]\

    Das Backup läuft problemlos weiter, es wäre also nur ein "optisches" Problem, damit der Backupreport ein erfolgreiches Backup mehr hat.

    Für Input wäre ich äusserst dankbar

    Danke für die Antwort, aber grundsätzlich funktioniert das Backup ja. Es sind ja nur die Mailboxen ohne Account. Und es ist ja im Prinzip kein Fehler. Die Mailboxen können auch via Exchange Administration nicht mehr bearbeitet werden, solange kein Account zugewiesen ist. Also hat auch der User, mit dem das Backup durchgeführt wird keinen Zugriff mehr.

    Hallo Herr Streich,

    die vermeintliche "Archivierung" von Email Postfächer mittels Backup ist die denkbar ungünstigste Variante der Aufbewahrung, kein transparenter Zugriff, keine einfache Recherchemöglichkeiten und keine Konsolidierung von Unternehmenswissen, welches zusehend auch in Mails zu finden ist.
    Eine echte Archivierung Ihrer Emails ermöglicht Ihnen, unabhängig von den Accounts die Daten sicher, transparent und langfristig aufzubewahren. Mit einer expliziten Archivierungslösung sind Sie in der Lage die Backups sowie die Restorezeiten stark zu minimieren und den Zugriff auf die Mails immer zu gewährleisten.
    Abgesehen davon, dass Sie Ihr Backup mit den Inhalten über Generationen von Sicherungen belasten und Datenträger belegen, ist Backup nie eine Alternative zu Archivierung, jedoch kann Archivierung ein Backup ersetzten.

    Das beste Beispiel finden wir in den Schlagzeilen von heute: Die Bundeswehr löscht Daten, aus Versehen!
    Mit einer Software speziell zur Archivierung von Daten kann dies nicht aus Versehen passieren. Durch Redundanzen im Archiv ist zumindest ein Archiv noch intakt. Aber ich schweife ab.

    Vielen Dank für den Exkurs, aber da die Archivierung der Mails bei uns noch in der Planung steckt....

    Bin gerade beim einrichten von einem Exchange Online Backup, zwar mit EMC Networker jedoch bin ich hier auch auf dieses Problem gestossen (bzw. in der Doku darauf verwiesen worden) darauf hin hat mich das an ihr Problem errinnert:

    Backing up disabled and disconnected mailboxes
    Disabled mailboxes can be backed up if they are properly configured,
    and if certain conditions apply. For example, it is possible to back up
    a mailbox on a local Exchange Server if it is associated with a user
    whose account is in a different AD forest. In this scenario, a disabled
    user is created in the local AD for the mailbox. Detailed information
    on this scenario is available in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article,
    Article 322890, How to Associate an External Account with an Existing
    Exchange 2000 Mailbox.
    In another scenario, an employee leaves the company and a system
    administrator disables the account in Active Directory Users and
    Computers. If a mailbox backup is attempted with NetWorker
    Module for Exchange, the Exchange server refuses to give the
    NetWorker Module access to the mailbox. To restore the mailbox to a
    properly configured state, Microsoft recommends assigning the ID
    SELF to the msExchMasterAccountSID property in AD for the
    disabled user. This simulates the remote-forest user scenario
    described earlier, and allows a privileged user access to back up the
    mailbox. Instructions on how to perform this procedure are available
    in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 278966, Unable to Move or Log
    On to Exchange Resource Mailbox.
    This procedure can also be performed on disconnected mailboxes.
    Before beginning, however, reconnect the mailbox to an account.
    Then disable the account in Active Directory Users and Computers (if
    security is a concern), assign the ID SELF, and proceed with the
    backup.
