Dear Torben, dear group member,
First thank you Torben for bringing up this subject. In my opinion only thoe international companies will survive in world wide competition which are able to bridge the gap between the cultures of their stakeholder.
The problems of cultural differences are widely recognized but underestimated. So bridging the gap betweeen cultures goes far beyong avoiding the pit falls of the daily life the obvious things being written in tourists' and business guides to foreign countries.
Torben brings it to the point in his blog it is about values.
So the challenge for each company is to include at least a core values of its employees, partners, customers, and suppliers or to develop a company internal set of values and make them binding for all stakeholders - a daring endavour!
