  My experience comes from the other, embedded side of the software world. To SW architecture it adds additional constraints and challenges. Here I have around 10 years of software design and development experience for various domains including aerospace, robotics, wireless communications.
  Frameworks, patterns, code reuse, are also essential daily practices, with some differences, as frequently (if not everytime) the hardware platform changes.
  On the other hand embedded platforms become more powerful, diversity in processors narrows down to ARM varieties, operating systems get more "fat" on their APIs. To my delight that increases the demand for architecting.
  I'd like to share experience with those thinking enterprise wide and those thinking inside the box.
