    Introduction and an opportunity
    Greetings,

    My name is Mark Eaton, and I am a Research Analyst with the executive search firm Waterford Global Inc. We work in the financial services and professional services space, and I look forward to networking with you all. We are currently recruiting for an International Tax position, which I thought you would find interesting. I invite you to consider the following role...

    Kind regards,
    Mark Eaton

    Canada Calling:
    International Tax Professionals
    ‘Big 4’ Professional Services Firm

    Our client, one of the ‘Big 4’ professional services firms, requires experienced mid- and senior-level international tax professionals to meet the explosive growth of its Alberta region.

    Based in Calgary, Canada and reporting to the Partner, International Tax Services you will participate as a key member of the broadly-based International Tax Services practice and will join with other international tax specialists (Inbound and Outbound) in assisting clients with their international tax needs. The practice’s focus is on considering a client’s overall worldwide tax position with the aim of reducing the total tax burden across all jurisdictions, and enhancing shareholder value through effective tax strategies for global tax optimization.

    Identifying tax optimization opportunities for clients within their worldwide corporate structures includes advising on such areas as:
    • Selection of appropriate business and financial structures for foreign operations;
    • Acquisition and financing of operations and investments abroad;
    • Repatriation of funds and the taxation of foreign-source income; and
    • Impact of tax treaties, foreign tax holidays and exchange controls.

    As such, you will exceed clients’ demands for high quality, independent advice and delivery capability while, at the same time, expand the practice’s presence in the market. Working in a variety of business environments and providing innovative solutions to a diverse client base across a broad spectrum, you will gain significant exposure to a range of industries and clients.

    Ideally, you have a strong technical background in Canadian tax, with a minimum of three to five years’ experience in the practice of international taxation within a professional services firm, industry, government agency and/or law firm. Corporate tax legal research, consulting, and/or compliance experience an asset. Exposure to U.S. and/or U.K. tax an asset.

    Qualified candidates are invited to submit their expressions of interest, in confidence, to the attention of Fred Loewen at floewen@waterfordglobal.com
