    Touch and Travel: NFC base mobile ticketing system
    Hello all,

    I would like to start a discussion about mobile payment / mobile ticketing services based on the NFC technolgy. The german railway (Die Bahn) and Vodafone is working on such a service called "touch and travel" - http://www.touchandtravel.de/site/touchandtravel/de/start.ht....

    provided that there are the Mobiles, SIM cards and Services are available for massmarket and provided that this service is interoperable with all(major) network operator: What is your opionion on such a service? Will it take off? Is there a market need? Are customers (massmarket not only early adapters, techies, etc) willing to use that?

    I suppose this technology has a great prospective.

    The main prerequisites are:
    - It simplifies the life: there is no need to make many routine actions any more
    - It corresponds to the convergence concept: one unified device for a lot of purposes
    - It has synergetic interaction possibilities with other access technologies: Bluetooth 2.1
    - It has the support from worldwide mobile device manufacturers: Nokia, Samsung.

    As for me personally, I find NFC technology as very convenient.
    The main concern will be the security.
