  Rostelecom becomes Russia’s largest telecom company

  The Russian telecommunications company Rostelecom has completed the merger of TsentrTelecom, Sibirtelecom, Dalsvyaz, Uralsvyazinform, VolgaTelecom, SZT, YTK and Dagsvyazinform into a single, unified Rostelecom Company. As a result, Rostelecom has become the largest telecommunications company in Russia, according to its CEO, Aleksandr Provotorov. All contracts previously concluded by the merged companies will be honoured by Rostelecom, retaining the terms and conditions previously agreed. The decision to create one company on the basis of Rostelecom was reached at the annual shareholders' meeting last June.
