The consolidated revenues of T-Mobile Czech Republic fell over 9%, to CZK 6.54bn (€269.5m), in Q1 2011 compared to Q1 2010, and EBITDA decreased by 5%, to CZK 3.31bn (€136.6m). Revenue from mobile services was down by nearly 11%, while the number of SIM cards stayed practically flat at around 5.45 million.
According to T-Mobile Czech Republic’s CEO, Milan Vasina, the operator’s results are in line with market trends, with one of the main reasons for the lower revenue being falling prices of services. He added that one of the main trends, aside from customers switching from pre-paid to post-paid, is the growing proportion of revenues for data services (24% of ARPU at the end of March 2011, compared to 23% at the end of March 2010). He also said that the main objective for the company remains to keep its current customers. The average monthly churn rate remained stable at 1.3% in Q1 2011, compared to Q1 2010.
