THE IT COST SAVINGS INITIATIVE

The current financial crises are becoming a challenge for most IT Deparments in large enterprises. The reason: The comparison of the IT budget with the total turnover of a large enterprise does not get anybody's attention. However, if you compare the IT spendings with the profit of the same company you will realize that the ratio became much smaller and promptly get's into attention of the senior management and the companies shareholders. The risky calculation is: Every "Saved Penny" in the IT is one more "Penny in Profit"!

This group was recently founded to exchange and transport information and experience between all group members all over the world. The main goal is to involve technical as well as business people into a active discussion how to effecently SAVE in IT COSTS by discussing about methods, technologies, financial aspects and organizational changes when starting the consolidation. Our challenge will be to find ways of consolidation which can improve service levels, simplify management and improve agility in the IT.

Some of the discussions in the different forums of our group will have a deep technical -, a high level - or financial content. We would like to talk about methods as well as about technology and their impact on OPEX- and CAPEX-Costs in the IT. Typical members of this group are key people and management from the DataCenter, IT-Architecture, IT-Procurement, Finance, Power Users of the IT (especially influenceres), Business and senior consultants with experience in IT consolidation.

Vendors have the possibility to introduce their solutions during our regular Group Kick-Offs which will take place in a 2 months interval!
