Dear valued TBC members hello again. Today as our country passes through a deep crisis with the rest of the world, our leaders has different opinions about it.
The Turkish state minister for economy said on Saturday that Turkey reacted to the economic crisis as developed countries.
Turkey's State Minister Mehmet Şimşek said that this was the first time Turkey was reacting to the global economic crisis as developed countries.
"Turkey is resisting to the global economic crisis in a way that cannot be compared with the past," Şimşek said during a meeting with the members of the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party in the central Anatolian province of Eskisehir.
Şimşek said that the foreign exchange rates had been up, but the inflation and interest rates were dropping.
The minister said that the interest rates were around 15 percent despite the global economic crisis, and even the interest rates of the Central Bank were around 13 percent.
Şimşek said that the inflation rate was a one-digit figure, and all were showing that Turkey was reacting to the crisis as a developed country for the first time in its history.
The minister said this reaction was a result of serious structural reforms the government had made in the last six years.
"What is important is to make Turkey get prepared to the post-crisis era stronger," Şimşek also said.
