Dear User Experience Forum,
Raum Schiff Erde – a lovely unconference for digital, interaction design, internet – took place in Hamburg a few weeks ago. As I was organizing the event I had to skip the February newsletter. Therefore I owe you at least a few snippets from the gig.
We've actually rented a train station in Hamburg and felt a little bit like H. Potter to invite the crowd to join us between track 3 and 4. Magic, isn't it? We had 9 talks, and I am sure you will find the one or the other interesting. Just visit the program page to gain an overview on all presentations, audio casts, and additional references. All slides are up at slideshare, and a podcast is available at podcampus.de.
Below you can see our invited speaker Kars Alfrink, interaction designer from Utrecht, taking about Transmutation. The talk’s title refers to alchemists’ quest to turn lead into gold, which sometimes feels similar to what he is trying to do with pervasive games in public urban places.
As said, there is much more to discover, from the current challenges of the music industry to iPhone fingerpainting.
Happy digging, Happy Easter!
Matthias
