Sabrina Schreiber(not a XING member)Another idea for soy-meat
Maybe some of you know this tipp and I am the only one who is surprised about this idea. But my friend one day put beer instead of water above "soy-meat". It tasted delicious! And I am sure it's not only because of the beer - it was the rest of a bottle "Franziskaner", which is a really great beer. Try it!
:-)

Sabrina,
what exactly is 'soy-meat'?
Is that the gritty stuff that should resemble hamburger meat ('Gehacktes')?
Best regards,
Andreas

Yes, that's one sort of it. Unfortunately I haven't found the translation for "Soja-Schnetzel", so I thought "soy-meat" would be the most similar word for it.
:-D
So I mean this kind of soy-meat:

Sabrina,
thank you for suggesting to try out the soy-minced meat :-)
I have tried it out and am thoroughly happy with it.
I admit - it was a bit strange to eat spaghetti with a sauce that looked like meat sauce in the first moment, but it was a welcome addition.
Especially my kids (3&4) love it.
They even invited their kindergarden teacher over for dinner because they liked my spaghetti so much.
Today we made mini-hamburgers together. Of course I explained to them that this is dried hamburger meat (as opposed to fresh one :-) and they very much appreciated that they could help me prepare it. About 30 % of the prepared hamburgers really arrived at the table, the rest were already eaten in the kitchen.
Best regards,
Andreas

Good morning, Andreas!
Oh, it's great, that you like it :-) I think this kind of "soy-meat" is a great help to show new veggies or interested people how easy (and cheaper and healthier) it is to cook and have a great taste. For me it was one evening of tasting and from that time on I loved it, even if we don't eat it too often. But it's great to make such recipes like "Gulasch", "Spaghetti bolognese" or "Chile con Soja".
It is so damned easy to cook and even more easier to enrich with herbs or what ever you want. Even our doggies love it (they are fed vegetarian, too).
Oh, you can be happy that we are no neighbours. Otherwise you wouldn't have a quiet evening, because we would have knocked on your door until you had opened and give us some "Hamburgers", too. But we had a great meal, too, I must admit. Yesterday we had rice with Broccoli and other different vegetables, very hot - I love Chili & Co in a big - for my partner frighteningly - portion :-D
Another great aspect: When you see how much meat often costs it is nice to see that you can feed with one pack of soya-meat (about 2,00 Euro) a small family. And as you said - it is so easy to store, it doesn't molder, doesn't smell - it is absolutely great.
Cheers!
Sabrina
