Beringer Enters 3L Wine Cask Category with Carmenet's Hexagonal Package

Beringer Blass Wine Estates this week announced its entry into the three-liter premium wine cask category with its Carmenet Winery Vintner's Collection wine cask.

The hexagonal cask is a departure from the conventional "cereal box" silhouette of most other 3L wine casks. The streamlined Carmenet cask stands shorter than a regular 1.5L bottle with a slightly larger footprint and holds the equivalent of four 750 ml bottles.

Beringer purchased the Carmenet brand from Chalone Wine Group last year.

Three vintage-dated varietals (2003 Chardonnay, 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2002 Merlot) will be available at $15 suggested retail.
