My favorite white wine from the tuscany is the vernaccia of san gimignano. A great place to visit. But for sparkling wine my choice is always the Ferrari brut from Trento. This is a region in the north of italy. Famous for his wines,
grappas, apples and cheese. A bottle costs in germany app. 22€. but is worth it. As red wine i prefer instead of
chianti, barolo or montepulciano the red wine LaGrein from sudtirol.

Hello Mr. Battisti,
my wife and me spent some days of our honeymoon in San Gimignano. I have to admit, that it was the first time for me that I drank some Vernaccia. It is a nice wine with many different tastings. And above all you can buy a bottle without having to attack a bank ;-)
In the meantime I have discovered some other regions of Italy: The Veneto is one of my new favourites! Just think about the Amarone Classico - for example Zeni, Zenato or Allegrini! Great wines!!! But unfortunately these wines do have their prices!
Best regards

terruzzi&puthod is a great vernaccia. But try also Mormoraia!
Due to the prices in Tuskany my winecellar moved south to Sicily. Great strong wines with fair prices.
I have to admit that the prices of south-italian wines (puglia, sicilia, sardegna...) are much lower than the prices for wines in toscana or piemonte. One can really fee, smell and taste the sun!
But: why don't you try some wines from the northern part of italy? the region fo friuli is quite well-known for their white wines. (Venica&Venica for example makes some interesting wines. And the great Josko Gravner works in that region as well - althoug his wines arent cheap at all ;-) ).
regards, Thomas

Friuli is also known for very good grappa. The companies Nonnino and Domensis offer a variety of standard up to high quality grappa. Domensis is the only producer (according to my knowledge) of "kosher" Grappa. Which is not cheap but very good and ideal for companies selling wine and liquor with jewish customers.

Hello Mr. Battisti,
there are a few more kosher producers. But DOMENIS is for sure the most known one and available more or less everywhere.
All the best, GK

Hi!
As far as I'm concerned I'm not fond of grappa.
Nevertheless, I will advise you some very good red wines: il Nebbiolo, il Dolcetto e il Barbera which are all coming from Piemonte Region (Alba, close to Torino).
Regarding White wines, le Langhe and le Marche are two regions with very good white wine!
Cheers, VD
