Well my friends, it is a total myth to smell the cork after opening a wine bottle. The fact is that the cork smells like cork and has nothing to do with the wine. At a high end restaurant, the professional Sommelier will remove the cork very gently and then puts it in a small plate on the table without smelling it or showing it to his guests.
