Do business + management practices apply only on White Collar businesses or not?
    Hi,

During the past year i have tried to pass what i learnt to a project called streetpanthers.gr and it is about human rights of pedestrian, cyclists and people with special needs in Greece. I am member of the newly appointed board and we have managed to work a lot with mainstream media, including most of Greek newspapers, Radio stations and even international media. It is easily understood that our movement is not made from "white collar" managers, though it includes many, but rather from regular guys. Frankly speaking, i never liked working for a multinational and etc, i prefered social marketing. Till now we have 3000 friends and we have sold more than 250,000 stickers. We have used a lot blogs and social networking in order to build our brand and i can say that we differ from other Greek social networks.

So, do mrkg + mngment apply only on white collar businesses or not? By the way, what we are doing is in a voluntary basis not a professional!

I think that it is the only social movement in Greece that uses some sort of branding and brand personality ( the good panthers against the "bad" donkeys). Using our message we have managed to create many friends.

We have distributed our stickers on -+2500 persons, we have a board of 14 persons, including me. However we dont have "members", you just buy our stickers/

Action plan, there is not any formal plan, just focus on media relations and promotion through the internet, exhibitions, local media, events like the 22-09 mobility day and etc. For example, read this one

I am trying to set up something like livingstreets.co.uk. the problem in greece is that social movements are regarded from many citizens "as gangs of outlaws" and we try to change this. We coperate with similar movements in order to exchange knowledge, skills and views. I think that the Internet is a great tool for this. We have also some "good friends" from within the government, political parties, local authorities and etc. We try to set up a good network, i think that this is the main target for us now, and to keep up with the good publicity that we have.

THe only media that we dont trust is tv (expect an upcoming review on us from ZDF in germany) cause whenever we tried they distorded our message.

BTW, 21-10 is the podilatikos giros, i ll be there!

Why not. But for that i guess you need to focus on more advertisement (online and offline).

Online: Best way is to make a very nice website create blog, forum etc. and allow people to join our network online. They can donate if they like. Create some membership pattern.........

    Offline: ......................

There is a web site, with a blog (though we are about to close it down) and forum.

We have some profits from the stickers and we are using the profits to give free stickers on people with special needs and organisations of people with special needs.

    That’s even better.

But don't you think having website gives serious image.

Not sure how it works with you but...............

The web site works, but instead of a blog we operate a forum. However mind that many of our members are people with special needs who do not use the Internet, though i have a friend who is blind that has a device that helps him to use the Internet.
