  Janmashtami celebrated in AP

  Gokulashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Andhra Pradesh today.Thousands of devotees thronged Krishna temples across the State to offer special poojas since morning.
  
  The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised Janmashtami celebrations at Hare Krishna temple in Abids, which would culminate with abhishekam to the Lord at midnight after bhajans. Cultural programmes depicting episodes from Bhagavatham, spiritual discourses were also organised. Tableaux depicting scenes from Lord Krishna's life and his teachings were also put up at some temples.
