Let me briefly introduce our organization to you.

The German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK) is a German semi-governmental organization and member of the world-wide German Chambers Network. AHK promotes and supports trade relations between Germany and the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, and in particular supports German companies in building up and extending their business in the region.

Since May 2009 we have also become a bilateral membership organization, with German and local members. Our Chairman is H.E. Youssef Omair Bin Youssef (Chairman ADNOC). Hier you can find more information on our Board

The work of committees and working groups is the basis for AHK’s advocacy role and an efficient tool to integrate business people, experts and members into the AHK, so that they have an opportunity to actively and directly participate in defining, developing, discussing, and resolving issues impacting the operations of their businesses and organizations.

The Working Group Iran aims at evaluating trade and investment flows between the UAE and Iran, and at assessing, how new trade and investment flows can be created - including German companies - using the UAE as a gateway to the Iranian market.

On the first meeting on November 17 we expect an attendance of about 20 people. The round table discussion will be rather informal and will focus on the current situation in Iran. Dr. Peter Göpfrich, the CEO of AHK, will moderate the session.
