They ask for Guidance to the Straight Path through Faith, Information, Knowledge,Wisdom & Peace from the Lord . All the revealed prophets from Adam to Mohammad (PBUH) were on the Straight Path as they were guided by the Lord through His Benevolence and Mercy. They preached two things:

1) Taqwa - a code of conduct based on Devine wisdom and patience.
2) Peace: Slm, Salam, Assalam , Islam, Moslem

Thus revealed to guide mankind of the road to success welfare and salvation.

It is either their ego, laziness or whatelse that people won't ponder about it !!

GOD has NOT divided people into various religions but it is the people's thnking and attitude towards the life that has resulted into so many religions. GOD has only send one Religion on the face of the earth right from the day one the first person ADAM (PBIUH) set feet on this earth. If one tries and find out and practice what GOD wants him or her to do, that is the only actual way of life.
