About me

Aart van Bezooyen is a Dutch optimist and motivator for materials in design. He lives and works in Hamburg where he founded Material Stories in 2005 to bridge the gap between the materials industry and the world of design. Material Stories inspires and enables the best use of materials to make design more competitive, creative and sustainable.

Material Stories services include materials research, design workshops and strategic thinking for clients such as Royal Philips Electronics, Hyundai-KIA Design Center, The Fraunhofer Institute, Procter & Gamble and FutureBrand. Material Stories website features a weblog, materials resources and quarterly newsletter.

Aart contributes to international design magazines, teaches materials at design universities across Europe and is jury member at iF Design's Material Award 2010.
