About me

Born in Burgundy, I have lived twenty-one years in Asia: nineteen years in Japan and two years in China. After studying philosophy in Nancy and obtaining a master degree in humanities, I graduated in Chinese studies at the Institute of oriental languages and civilizations. The title of my doctorate thesis dissertation is: "Li Dazhao and the Quest for Eternal Spring.
 
I pursued my researches at Nanjing University and Tokyo University and eventually settled in Japan where I was a lecturer at Nagasaki Foreign Languages University and during more than fifteen years, professor at the foreign language school of JICA (Japanese international cooperation agency) - cooperation branch of the Japanese Foreign Office.
 

Back to France, I have been consultant and adviser for the Far East activities of the L’Oreal group, teacher of Japanese and French as a foreign language, and professor of oriental philosophies. I also worked on an Internet site for water ecology problems worldwide http://www.waternunc.com, doing translations from the Chinese and writing articles.
 
My expertise covers cross culture problems, Chinese and Japanese languages, French as a foreign language, comparative psychology and philosophy, preparation for long stay in Asia, culture shock and cultural facilitation. I wrote several articles (on line at http://www.waternunc.com) and a book which title is The Sherpa and the White Man, as well as five novels, nine short stories, a play "The submarine in flames", and travel notes (Nancy, Paris, Beijing, Nanjing, Osaka, Nagasaki, Tokyo)
 
The Sherpa and the White Man, a philosophical essay about East-West relations, has been published in April 2009 by Gallimard
 

Né en Bourgogne, j'ai vécu vingt et un ans en Extrême-Orient : dix-neuf ans au Japon et deux ans en Chine. Après un mastère de philosophie à l'Université de Nancy, j'ai commencé des études de chinois à l'Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales de Paris-Sorbonne (INALCO). Le titre de mon doctorat est : "Li Dazhao et la recherche du printemps éternel».
 
Poursuivant mes recherches à l'Université de Nanjing et à l'Université de Tokyo, je me suis fixé au Japon où j'ai été lecteur à l'Université des langues étrangères de Nagasaki et, durant plus de quinze ans, professeur à l'école de langues étrangères de l'Agence japonaise de coopération internationale (JICA), dépendant du Ministère japonais des affaires extérieures.
 
De retour en France, j'ai été consultant pour l'Extrême Orient à l'Oréal, professeur de français langue étrangère et de japonais, et professeur de philosophie orientale. J'ai aussi contribué à asiatiser le site http://www.waternunc.com, consacré aux problèmes de l'eau et de l'écologie à l’échelle mondiale, par des traductions du chinois et des articles
 
Mes compétences sont l'interculturel, les langues chinoise et japonaise, le français comme langue étrangère, la psychologie et la pensée comparées, la préparation aux séjours en Asie, les chocs culturels, thèmes sur lesquels j'ai rédigé des articles en ligne sur Internet, un livre intitulé Le sherpa et l'homme blanc, ainsi que cinq romans, neuf nouvelles, une piece de theatre "Le sous-marin en flammes", et des carnets de voyage (Nancy, Paris, Beijing, Nanjing, Osaka, Nagasaki, Tokyo) .
