About me
Alexander is a senior manager and consultant for Sales, Marketing and Consulting in the IT Solutions and Services World on director and VP level preferrably the Energy Sector. Understanding customer needs in this massively changing market is key - as well as ensuring that Smart Energy solutions for e.g. Smart Grid, Security or Operational Intelligence, provide highly integrated and automated processes for Energy companies.
Alexander has personally innovated and developed some of the Smart solutions, taking them from concept to customer success stories. With his global Utilities industry experience and an in-depth understanding of how deregulation or privatisation can drive businesses, he continues to drive innovation through solutions and commercial models. Notably, he has been involved in several market-driving initiatives including the Smart 2020 study.
Alexander’s work in the Energy sector started in 1997, at the start of the liberalisation of Austria’s power and gas industry. In his role as marketing manager at Siemens - part of a team with a brief to establish a spin-off for market operations and build IT solutions for deregulated markets - he built an in-depth understanding on how to get best value out of IT to support the business operations. In 1999 Alexander was the program manager for one of the first BPO operations for billing and customer care in Europe. After successful implementation, he became Principal Process Consultant, integrating the innovative new developments into projects in other countries. In 2004 he was appointed as leader of the SIS Global Competence Centre for Utilities, working on strategic projects in the Utilities Industry across the globe. Under his care, the Utilities business grew globally year on year.
Having conceived and built the technical foundation for smart energy solutions through his projects Alexander has the expertise necessary to consult on and build innovative but concrete solutions for the Utilities industry.
Specialties
In 2008 Alexander took the opportunity to build the innovative Solution Energy Management Suite for the Power Generation industry. By connecting the real-time world of control-systems and archives with asset management, ERP and Operational Intelligence systems, the solution enables Energy Generators and Traders to place competitive bids in the market, whilst increasing the profit of their operation and maintenance businesses.
