Amelia Cuni:
Singer, composer and performer. She has trained her voice and musical skills in India, according to the tradition of DHRUPAD singing and KATHAK dance. Her present work includes early and contemporary music and collaborations with several artists of international repute, Terry Riley and David Toop a.o. Her own multimedia performance ASHTAYAMA-SONG OF HOURS has been presented in several international festivals in Europe and USA. Her latest work is the JOHN CAGE's SOLO 58 (microtonal ragas from his SONG BOOKS, 1970), in co-production with several European new music venues. Several composers have written for her dhrupad voice. Her music is featured on various CD productions, she teaches Indian singing at the Vicenza Conservatory in Italy and is presently working on several new projects including live electronic and early music.
