For nearly half a decade, Andrea Fivecoat served as Recreation Coordinator III for the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, West District. During her tenure, Fivecoat maintained day-to-day operations of the West District budget; supervised 3 Recreation Coordinator II’s and 30 part-time employees; worked with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality on issues pertaining to land, water, and air; and inspected parks and associated facilities to ensure proper care and maintenance. Prior to assuming her leading role with the City of Phoenix, Andrea Fivecoat served as Recreation Coordinator I & II with the West District. Fivecoat oversaw operations and led the Smith Park Recreation Center, Holiday Park, Starlight Park, Marc Atkinson Recreation Center and District Wide City Streets teen programs, various youth sports clinics, four High Schools, five after school programs, and the entirety of the West District Special Events. She also gained strategic planning and organizational expertise through her role as Project Director with the Maryvale Coalition, where she arranged significant job training courses for members of the community and implemented substance abuse programs in the area. Andrea Fivecoat also spent three years as a Recreation Leader for the City of Phoenix, Parks, Recreation, and Library Department, Central-West District. Supplementing her extensive professional background as a park supervisor, Andrea Fivecoat garnered extensive training in myriad topics. Fivecoat has completed training in supervisory personnel practice, PMG for supervisors, civil treatment, cash handling, and blood-borne pathogens. Andrea Fivecoat received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She continued postgraduate training at Chapman University, where she earned her Arizona Teaching Certificate in 1995.
