About me

This space is intended to provide more detailed informationabout me, CV, projects, customers and business area... well, I thought it might be intresting to write something completely different here.

Twohundred and twentyone kilometers

Yes, you read it right, I do live in southern Switzerland (Ticino) and work in the Zurich area.
Every Monday morning at about 5.30 I leave home and some 221km and 3.5 hours later I'm in my office!
I do this since late 1998, I have a small appartment to stay during the week.

The first 6 years I did it with my car. Getting older and a bit wiser I do that by train now.
My life is split in two: at the end of the week, when I return home to my 3 kids and (one) wife I change priorities again. But during the work week I can concentrate almost 24 hours of my energies in my job.
That way I also take best advantage of the time I spend with my family.

Looks like I have a lot of energy! Job, Family and... Rock Music!
I always played bass guitar in a Rock band. With the last two bands I produced 5 CD albums (in 15 years).
Kinda hard to believe, but we had record deals and concert tours up to Canada! But all that was long time ago, with my actual band we are still working on our 3rd album, but we take it very easy and take the time we get.

The bass guitar I play is a MusicMan StingRay built in 1978 before Leo Fender sold the company to Ernie Ball (s/n B007378), an incredible piece of wood craftsmanship!
The amp head is an old Trace Elliot RAH350SMX (700W) and the cab a Gallien&Krueger SBXplus (4x10", 800W)

Cubase SX 3.1.1b944

"If we build our own house, I want a recording studio in it." That's what I told my wife in 2001.
After spending thousands of swiss francs for recording studios to produce my bands, I wanted a place where we could work when we have time.

My studio DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is based on Steinberg Cubase SX3 (host) with a TC Electronic PowerCore (DSP) and a MotU 828mkII audio interface. We use very few VST instruments but a lot of other plugins.
The main task of the DAW is being a multitrack recorder capable of some 70 mono tracks.

Some of our HW tools are Neumann, Rode and Shure microphones, Focusrite preamps and AD converters, AKG monitoring HPs, Mackie Big Knob and Universal Control human interface.

...what else?

No, I'm not cloning Clooney...

There are a lot of other things I'd like to tell you, but I'll keep them for the next time we'll meet!

If this is not what you were expecting to read about me, please do not hesitate to contact me for any information you'd like to have.
