Über mich

Besides being a freelance translator (Spanish native), I have worked as a graphic designer for over 8 years, and I am familiar with all kinds of design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop...), and have done DTP work for translation agencies; I have also designed several websites and I know my way around HTML, XML, PHP, etc... Currently I am also one of the members of a design studio called Globulart.
 
Here is a summary of my translation experience:
 
1. BOOKS & ARTICLES. I translated several books and articles on design, art and advertising for various publishing houses and agencies. These are just a few:
- "Business Cards 3 - Designs on Saying Hello". Gustavo Gili, 2008.
- "Komodo Manga, paso a paso". Monsa Publications, 2009.
- "Collaborative Services. Social Innovation for Design and Sustainability". Experimenta magazine, April 2009 http://www.experimenta.es/magazines.html.
- "Clip/Stamp/Fold. The radical architecture of little magazines, 196x to 197x". Experimenta magazine, 2009.

2. JOURNALISTIC TEXTS AND ESSAYS. Since June 2006 I have translated the dailty headlines for "DemocracyNow!", a daily TV news program. Since early 2007 and until late 2008 I have translated the weekly column by Amy Goodman, the journalist and author that hosts Democracy Now!
 
3. WEBSITES. During my time at my previous job at Visual Chart Group, I translated a great portion of the corporate website, and I was in charge of our communications with our english-speaking providers. At Globulart, I have completed a number of translations, especially of the websites that we have created for some of our clientes, besides translating the occasional brochure that we also designed.

4. SOFTWARE. Spanish translation of some of the first versions of the videoconferencing software Skype.
