I am a specialist for transforming companies back office functions into highly performing service functions, with a special focus on the finance function.

Transforming here stands for repositioning a function, based on internal / external requirements, on best practice processes and optimized ERP-systems and organizational structure. Very often this is achieved by a combination of bundling repetitive and high-scale transactions into an internal SHARED SERVICE CENTER (SSC) or co-operate with an external OUTSOURCING partner, having all local market related activities remain locally and establish a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (CoE) for all complex, specialized activities which usually require both high education and broad experience.

Other competency areas are PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS / BENCHMARKING, PROCESS OPTIMISATION, FAST CLOSE and SOX COMPLIANCE.

As part of the Finance Transformation Team at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte Consulting I was deeply involved in establishing and optimizing SHARED SERVICE CENTERS for various worldwide leading corporations as well as in helping clients to find their best suitable OUTSOURCING partner for their European-wide back office functions.

Before joining the consulting business I was actively involved in setting up one of the first (1996) SSC’s in Europe, the European Financial Shared Service Center for Kellogg in Manchester, and helped as part of the German team to continuously improve the services we delivered.

With my 12+ years broad international experiences and “hands-on” consulting style I have achieved excellent operational and financial results.
