Arik Messerman

Dipl.-Inform. Arik Messerman finished his Diploma (M.Sc.) in Computer Science department at Berlin Institute of Technology (Technische Universität Berlin) 2007 with the grade of "with distinction (1,0 = A+)". In view of the wide scope and extent of the course of study the degree "Diplom-Informatiker" is equivalent to the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in the Anglo-American educational system.

Currently he is working as a scientific researcher at the Distributed Artificial Institute laboratories (DAI-Labor) at Berlin Institute of Technology and pursuing his PhD in the field of Soft Biometrics/Authentication techniques.

He worked on projects in the fields of behavioral biometrics, intelligent homes environments, network security, image recognition and various security-related topics. In addition, he worked as a teaching assistant in security-related lectures.

His main area of research is the continuous recognition of humans on the basis of their behavior under real-time constraints. Furthermore he is interested in next generation authentication mechanisms, operating systems and cryptology.
