About me

Bernard Wolfsdorf is considered one of the top 10 immigration lawyers in the United States by Human Resource Executive magazine. His bicoastal practice is world renowned for its handling of immigration cases. He has served as an immigration lawyer, primarily in the California area, for nearly 30 years.

During his time as an attorney, Bernard Wolfsdorf has won several awards. For the last two consecutive years, he was the recipient of the Corporate Immigration Lawyer of the Year Award through Who’s Who Legal. He is the former President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Bernard Wolfsdorf, who is an immigrant himself, began his career with a Los Angeles-based law firm in the 1980s, right after completing studies at Suffolk University. While working as a Corporate and Securities Attorney, he was asked by a Senior Partner to help with an immigration case for a very famous client, and so began his career in immigration law.

Bernard Wolfsdorf now manages Wolfsdorf Immigration Law Group, one of the largest immigration law firms in the country; his services are known the world over. Additionally, 6 of the 17 lawyers in his practice were nominated for the International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers.

Bernard Wolfsdorf was the recipient of the 2011 AILA Service Excellence Award. Immigration Attorney Bernard Wolfsdorf has been practicing law since the 1980s. One thing that sets him apart from many other immigration lawyers is the fact that his very first case was his own. Bernard Wolfsdorf came to the United States seeking asylum from his home country, where he participated in anti-apartheid activities. He handled his personal immigration case primarily on his own with the guidance of Deborah Anker, who is now a Harvard Law professor.

Following the completion of his studies at Suffolk University, Bernard Wolfsdorf accepted employment at Memel, Jacobs, Pierno, Gersh & Ellsworth, a high-powered, Los Angeles-based law firm. He spent his first few months working in corporate law and securities. Once Mr. Wolfsdorf demonstrated his talent for immigration law by assisting one of the firm’s Partners with a celebrity case, he was quickly moved to immigration law, where he went on to handle cases for a number of important clients.

In 1986, when Memel, Jacobs split, Bernard Wolfsdorf embarked on his own and founded the Wolfsdorf Immigration Law Group. Since then, the firm has expanded, with offices in both Los Angeles and New York. There are 17 lawyers in the practice, which is known the world over for providing excellent service to clients. Bernard Wolfsdorf received the Excellence Award in recognition of the hundreds of hours he regularly logs volunteering for the organization. He additionally devotes a good deal of his time offering pro bono services for clients in need. When he is not in the office, Bernard Wolfsdorf devotes his free time to his wife and four children.
