About me

Beverly Peffer & Frank Peffer -Founders (An all Volunteer Nonprofit organization) Now looking for medical staff, OT, PT, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Investors, donors for New Facility

The Pocono Equestrian Center provides program training and implementation for volunteers. Our staff and administrators facilitate youth programs once the training is completed all on a volunteer basis.

Beverly Peffer, has worked for the Girl Scouts as a Riding Director, Camp Saint Andrew as a day camp counselor and developed an excellent rapport with the youth, after years of owning and training her own horses along with working with caring for other horse barns. Several consecutive summers she worked with the physically handicapped riders at a local barn. She has built a life long love for horses. Beverly has completed and updated her Red Cross Professional First Aid, Adult and Child/Infant CPR courses. She currently is studying natural horsemanship with the “Horse Whisperer”, Frank Bell, which is enhancing her training techniques for horses.

Beverly has completed North America Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) Registered Certified Instructor Course in 2005. Beverly is a member of NARHA, American Hippotherapy Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Arabian Horse Association and USA Equestrian Federation. She has accomplished all of this as a hobby. Her Passion is to help as many horses and children as possible by offering these programs on a full time basis.

In her professional life has dedicated over 14 years of credit and collections as a manager and mentor. In this difficult field has managed millions of dollars in portfolios in different industries. She was past Vice President of Abington Lions Club for 2004-2005 and had developed and took a position of President in 2001, a Chapter of the Credit and Financial Development Division that had been badly needed in Edison. also she is a member of the National Association of Credit Management (NACM). She was also a member of National Association of Female Executives.

Volunteers are now required to go through a training course in how to manage the horses to the different disabilities. This is not only a requirement for NARHA but is a good way to teach volunteers how they are supposed to conduct themselves. Our volunteer group is growing and consistently is getting attention from the media. The Pocono Equestrian Center hopes to raise enough funds to find it's place to call home in 2009.

Frank Peffer, he has a wide variety of assets to offer The Pocono Equestrian Center. He has worked for a family owned fabrication business, which will assist the organization with fencing and maintenance of the facility. As a manager of Information Systems for over 15 years he has extensive knowledge of computers, which will facilitate the children in learning basics needed via computers for the Staff in Training program. He also owns and manages his own apartments. Frank also as a hobby had owned/trained his own horses previously managed barns and has continued his love for horses. Another interest of his is energy, and how to make it from windmills, and water, solar panels etc, which may be helpful in the future planning of our facility.
