NOTE: How I deal with contact requests.

Every social network is as strong as its bonds. This does not necessarily refer to the quantity of contacts but rather the quality and closeness in between the existing contacts. In an ideal case, my contacts can qualify, connect or even recommend me to their existing contacts. References are built through the different levels of connections. My contacts are my reference and I am theirs.

I am delighted to receive contact requests and meet new people. If we have not met personally yet, just tell me when, where, and why we should meet. Xing as well offers the wonderful opportunity to send emails, which helps to start building a relationship.

Non-premium members cannot send emails, only contact requests with a brief text. This of course can replace messages and I will just interpret them as such.
