About me
Mission:
Openaid is committed to social and economic development through good governance. We promote project related transparency in the context of international development cooperation to foster democratic discourse, government accountability and ultimately effective aid suited to the needs of local societies.
Goals
1) Openaid engages in lobbying to make comprehensive, detailed, accessible and usable project-level information available.
2) Openaid promotes public online monitoring of development projects based on transparent project-information to foster project effectiveness and efficiency, to hold governments accountable on specific projects and to enhance participation of civil society in aid policy.
3) Openaid promotes the use of web 2.0 technologies to build civil society networks and foster democratic participation in governance.
Projects
Aid Transparency campaign among German community based groups and aid-related non-governmental organisations
On-line project-watch platform (Adopt-a-project) to monitor individual aid projects and to exchange insider knowledge, to control project implementation, to evaluate project impact and to allow for project related discussions among stakeholders.
Connecting people working on transparency in Germany and internationally, establishment of virtual project-teams and organisation of real life workshops.
