David Hesse

I am an experienced IT-professional with 10 years experience in working for different blue chip companies including IBM, U.S. Robotics, Novell, Hewlett Packard, LANDesk Software, VMware and Dell in a variety of roles. My main areas of expertise are technical support for Hardware, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, a variety of business applications, TCP/IP networks, IP and Fibre Channel Storage, Virtualization Technologies, Virtual Machine backup implementations. and SAN Concepts and Implementation. In my roles, I have worked on a number of projects with a wide variation in client and customer areas with emphasis of providing quality customer service and effective troubleshooting. I am constantly widening my knowledge and I am trying to improve my work patterns to deliver a high quality product and good customer service. I constantly received good feedback from my customers and most of my Managers. I achieved the VCP3 in 2008, the VCP 4 in 2010 and the VCP 5 2012. Since 2011 my focus was shifting more towards Desktop Virtualisation and I was studying the solutions offered by Citrix and gained the Citrix Certified Administrator for Xen-Desktop 5 accreditation in the process. I also have a great interest in Cloud computing with all its different facets, extending the benefits of Virtualization to a wider area of use cases, by offering Infrastructure as a Service, or Platform as a Service as a new subscription based model of consuming IT Services to many customers and I am currently focusing on the product offerings from VMware, such as vCloud Director. I have a sound background in Sorage and Backup Technologies.
Specialties: Design, Implementation and Administraton of VMware vSphere environments, setting up HA/DRS Clusters and Resource Pools for High availability of Virtual Machines, SAN configurations (FC, iSCSI, NFS, NAS) and VM Backup Solutions.
Familiar with EMC Clariion, Celerra and the early VNX Unified Storage Arrays.
Highly familiar with HP/3PAR F400 Arrays.
