Development and Relief Consultant with five to seven years of varied working experience in conflict, emergency and development programs, which includes program design, policy formation, community development, emergency and post-disaster management, with a special experience in health, social development, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and relief/rehabilitation (construction) programs.

The main consultant duties where composed of establishment, management and support of all (8) Training Centers in Pakistan Administrative Kashmir for the policy based training/reconstruction program of the Government.
• Support, supervision and coordinating/facilitating trainings for earthquake affected population, artisans, INGO staff members and communities in earthquake resistant construction technique.
• Manage and oversee the overall operation in Kashmir of more than 100 direct subordinates and 500 staff members (HR, Finance, Admin,. Logistic, Procurement and Coordination).
• Forging partnerships/coordinating with government departments, INGOs, UN Agencies and private organizations, as well as contracting out work when necessary.
• Assist in policy developments and changes to guarantee a sustainable reconstruction process.
Achievements: Demonstrating professional competence in mastering the work. Trained/Supported and facilitated over 300’000 artisans, affected and technical staff in 2 years. Through a clear leadership, collaboration and respect among diverse team members, achieving the target in the set budget, time and material frame. Standardizing all financial, procurement, logistic procedures (Development of a Field Operation Manual) for the country-wide mission.

The main duties were over all implementation of the rural reconstruction program and leading the country office.
• Planning, implementing and evaluating the whole reconstruction project in Pakistan Administrative Kashmir.
• Setting up, implementing and handing over a field hospital, reconstruction of a Basic Health Unit and handing over the full functional structure to the Ministry of Health.
• Responsible for concept notes, project proposals, plans, budgets and contracts, MoUs and general strategic plans for the country-wide mission as well as regular reporting (financial and narrative) to donors.
Achievements: Establishing a reconstruction project to rebuild over 10’000 rural houses. Developing goals, indentifying priorities, which are consistent with the organizational and governmental strategy for reconstruction. Employ, support and train over 50 national staff members. Through a clear leadership, collaboration and respect among diverse team members, achieving the target in the set budget, time and material frame. With regular monitoring and monthly coordination/presentation with government agencies, the mission was declared a success (demonstrated by the honor letter of the government).

Running the office in tsunami hit Trincomalee, keeping within the set budget, time and material constringes (incl. successfully running through an ECHO audit).

Research Project Record
 
Feb 04 – April 04 India (Kolkata): Head of the sociological research project about the socioeconomic surrounding of „malkins“ (female owner of prostitutes) in their red light area, Sonagachi, in Kolkata. The data was collected with biographic, qualitative interviews on behalf of the Calcutta Project Basel. The aim of the research was to improve the social as well as the health situation of the target people.
 
Oct 01 Australia (Perth): Part of the research team for evaluating and developing solutions to solve medical and social problems of non-English speaking immigrants in Australia on behalf of the Anthropology Department at the University of Western Australia.
 
July 00 Nepal (Mountains of Solo Cumbu area): Anthropological research and data collection for producing a collection of 100 traditional Tibetan medical plants, incl. medical explanation on behalf of the Shelkar Tibetan Medicine Institute and the tashi-delek Society Switzerland.
 
July 99 Switzerland (Basel): Part of the interview team in the research project „Sozialumfrage“, which evaluates the socio-economic conditions of the students at the University of Basel. The research was performed by the Department of Sociology at the University of Basel.
