About me

For the past 4 years, Dennis worked in Cambodia, where he drew on his background in international business management and marketing to support a variety of local and international social sector organisations in their business development endeavours.

For example, most recently Dennis worked for the World Bank’s Water and Sanitation Program to identify market-based models for the capacity development of Cambodian private sector water businesses. For PATH, an international leader in market-based approaches for global health, he assessed the health funding and partnering environment to inform PATH Cambodia’s Programme Strategy.

For VBNK, a leading Cambodian capacity development organisation, he assisted with the identification of donor- and capacity development trends, and subsequently developed product lines and marketing strategies which successfully generated partnerships with a wide range of civil society clients, government agencies and donors. He also supported the organisation’s internal learning and development of senior management staff. Additionally, Dennis was involved in the design and delivery of capacity building interventions and management trainings for major development partners.

Further, Dennis assisted Friends-International, an international child support organisation, in shifting its funding approach to a social enterprise model through the development of several social businesses employing marginalised populations. He advised the organisation on strategic and operational matters, developed market-based business approaches to benefit Friends’ target beneficiaries, and was engaged in day-to-day social business management and development.

Through his work, Dennis gained substantial people- and business management experience in cross-cultural environments. His knowledge in a range of development issues and understanding of the social development landscape allows him to identify beneficial business opportunities for social sector organisations.

Dennis is available for new opportunities to apply his expertise in market-based solutions to social development.
