À propos de moi

I am a consultant and web developer with over a decade’s experience in the commercial and higher education sectors. I established my freelance business in 2000 and have a proven track record in the professional and efficient delivery of projects in the online environment.
 
Since establishing my company, duncandavidson.co.uk, I have provided web-based solutions for a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to multi-national NGOs. In addition to consulting and strategy building, I also offer website development and web application development. I specialise in developing using Drupal but I am comfortable with a wide range of languages, platforms and databases.
 
Personal experience of consultancy and running my own business has proved invaluable in my work with Informatics Ventures, the entrepreneurial programme for hi-tech start ups and spin outs of the University of Edinburgh. As the project’s senior web analyst, I support the development of system’s to deliver our goals of outreach and engagement with Scotland’s business community.
 
My research interests include web architecture and information management, and I recently attended the 2010 DrupalCon summit in Copenhagen. I have presented papers at the Teaching and Learning Research Programme Conference, European Conference on Educational Research, and London’s Online Information Conference.
 
I am also a British Computer Society accredited Chartered Engineer with a degree in Computing Science from the University of Aberdeen. Since graduating in 1998, I have held positions at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen College, the University of Abertay and Power Software Ltd, an Aberdeen-based company serving clients in the telecommunications, finance and defence industries.
 
Out of the office I am a keen amateur photographer with a passion for the great outdoors. I have also recently taken up indoor climbing and yoga.
