Commanding an impressive professional and academic background, Mr. Martin began to lay the foundation for his career as an undergraduate at the University of Alberta, where he pursued studies in business, among other related topics. An outstanding student, Dwight Martin earned his Bachelor of Commerce with distinction from the University of Alberta and subsequently embarked on a highly successful professional path, beginning with a lengthy period as a chartered accountant.

For 15 years, Mr. Martin owned and operated a private practice as a chartered accountant. In this capacity, he served the tax and financial management needs of various corporate entities. At the end of this period, Dwight Martin further diversified his professional interests through the formation of several business ventures, including companies both public and private. Among his notable accomplishments, Mr. Martin held an ownership in a boutique financial services and brokerage firm where he performed advisory functions related to leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. In addition, Dwight Martin advised a U.S.-based public firm for a company acquisition, and has assisted a private equity organization on its initial funding and structuring.
