Watchmaker Edmond Avakian brings more than three decades of experience to his role as the Chief Executive Officer of Avakian Geneve, where he oversees the company’s creative and strategic direction. Edmond Avakian holds an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and later earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley in 1972. After joining the family jewelry business in 1976, he received additional training at the Gemological Institute of America, where his passion for jewelry was cemented. He then relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, the hub for luxury jewelry and watches. While there, he grew his business and opened shops in London, Moscow, and California’s Beverly Hills. Mr. Avakian went on to develop an illustrious brand that attracted celebrities such as Madonna, Catherine Deneuve, Rihanna, Hillary Swank, Petra Nemcova, Sharon Osbourne, and several others.
Intent on maintaining a memorable brand, Edmond Avakian has developed a line of elegant and well-designed women’s watches. He is the creative mind behind the first women’s wristwatch given the name Tzarina. His other work includes the Riviera jewelry collection, the Joker jewelry collection, and the Links jewelry collection, all of which are inspired by Edmond Avakian's engineering background and contain some form of movement or interchangeability. All of these collections come in a unique combination of colors that are congruent with Avakian's daring style.
