À propos de moi

I have been involved in Graphic Design for over 25 years, working within the international community for most of that time.
 
In 1996, I was awarded membership into the Latvian Designers’ Society (http://www.design.lv/en), a prestigious organization, who accepts members only after a jury judges their design capabilities. I am still a member of this society.
 
I was director, for the first two years, of the Nordic Language Library, in Latvia, from its conception in the early 90's; cooperating, primarily, with Sweden, as well as other Nordic countries.
 
As one of the early pioneers, in independent Latvia, I owned (in partnership) one of the first, and largest, privately owned publishing houses, Dadzis; beginning independent operation in 1994 and publishing two of the most popular magazines in Latvia. Our schedules were tight and demanding, creating an excellent classroom for learning to operate with teams under tremendous pressure and without assistance or role models.
 
For the past several years, with Latvia’s rapidly changing economic and social environment, it has become essential for anyone wishing to move forward in their career, and remain financially solvent, to continuously change companies and sometimes fields. This was why I went from publishing into advertising.
 
I am passionate about design, typography and, in particular, Mac systems.
 
Prior to moving to Scotland, where I now reside, I worked for, "DOMINO" Associate Agency BBDO Worldwide. This company was comprised of an international team (Latvian, Australian, German, Russian and Swedish) with a Czech art director; so our working language was English.
