About me

Mr. Eric Howard is one of the founders of the Fulbright Academy and serves as its Executive Director. He has been building bridges between people interested in science, technology and business for more than ten years. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to West Germany in 1989 to conduct research at the University of Bonn in land planning, forest management and rural economic development. He also has held fellowships at World Wildlife Fund and at the US Environmental Protection Agency.
 
He earned a B.A. with Honors in Geology from Wesleyan University and a Master of Environmental Management degree with a focus on resource economics and policy from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. Mr. Howard started his professional career as the Information Officer for the World Conservation Union’s Environmental Law Center in Bonn Germany, where he was responsible for collecting and disseminating information on legal and policy developments during the two years leading up to the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio. He has worked as a consultant with the United Nations Environment Program, the US Agency for International Development, as well as national and local organizations. More recently he has been directing non-profit organizations and managing programs with a focus on environmental conservation and science and technology innovation.
