My work within such global companies like Hewlett Packard and Nokia especially supported me in gaining the required skills, hard and especially as well soft skills to effectively participate in and lead commercial software development.
During my work in Nokia I got involved in a Multisite development of a Middleware product. With about 200 people involved in the development in 3 sites, the main focus is clearly on effectively coordinate the work. Using Agile processes and daily builds with automated testing and doing model driven development helped in coping with this. I do believe agile is the appropriate process model to solve todays software development issues. I am certified Scrum Master. Using state-of-the art techniques as model driven development and automatic testing enables the creation of higher quality complex software. I was responsible for defining the architecture of a Web Framework and involved in joint design and architecture of a new network management platform of Cisco Systems and Nokia Siemens Networks.
 
My current employer codecentric is a midsize company specialized in agile Java development and Performance consulting. It is very refreshing to work in such a small and energetic company, which values every individual with its skills and has a friendly work environment. We try to do a 20% off-work time assignment to conferences open source development and continuous learning.
