About me

I am currently a Lead Engineer in research and development for the industrial division at InnoSenT GmbH (Innovative Sensor Technology), working on radar sensors for Automotive, industrial and security applications.

From 2007 up to 2013 I worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Electronics Engineering at the university of Erlangen-Nuremberg, pursuing my PhD on research topics related to innovative 24 and 77GHz radar technology for automotive and industrial applications, gaining expertise in Research projects and advanced radar technologies.

In 2007 I concluded  the Master of Science in Microwave Engineering program at the Technische Universität in Munich, Germany, under the guidance of Prof. Russer. Thesis work was conducted at Daimler Research center in Ulm, Germany, in the field of Automotive antennas.

During the last five years I worked primarily on the design and analysis of radar calibration systems and related high-frequency circuits, passive microwave structures and electromagnetic wave propagation, as well as radar systems for accurate distance measurement and direction of arrival estimation.

I published my research results in 34 publications through the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and presented these at international conferences worldwide. Furthermore, I registered three international patents and worked on several industrial projects. I also serve as a reviewer for several journals and conferences.

During my PhD I have developed a six-port receiver architecture for innovative radar sensors at 24 and 77 GHz. This new receiver concept allows an extremely high-resolution angle measurement of the direction of propagation of electromagnetic waves, as well as very accurate distance measurements.

This allows accurate calibration of automotive radars, radio signal source localization and innovative industrial sensors for precise, contactless monitoring and control.

Other topics on which I have been working on are antenna design in the millimeter wave range, ultra-wideband radar for communication applications and 3D electromagnetic simulation using numerical methods in time and frequency domain.
