About me
Mr. Wright is a famous advocate for human rights issues, animal protection, education reform, political change, and good citizenship issues.
In 1995, Gary fought against the failed United States military "Don't Ask, Don't Tell..." discrimination policy of illegally discharging qualified soldiers and sailors based upon their perceived sexual orientation.
In 2001 and 2005, he fought against the passage of The United States Patriot Act, as well as the renewal of it's "sunset provisions". He felt that the act was nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction to the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 and allowed the United States Government a shortcut to the judicial process by allowing authorities to overstep the constraints of the United States Constitution by eliminating critical human rights to privacy and free speech. Despite the political rhetoric, the fact that at the time of the "sunset date" the critical provisions of the act had yet to be used for bringing evil-doers and terrorists to justice.
Though now disabled and struggling with a progressive myopathy related to Malignant Hyperthermia, Mr. Wright still remains active in the community by working with elected officials and by voting at every election.
Gary Wright II currently serves as the visionary President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clever Things, LLC (a technical consulting company located in Atlanta Georgia). Tthe company owned and operated several web sites ranging from technical consulting, specialty retail, and robotics, to several adult entertainment portals.
Mr. Wright strongly believes in giving back to his community. He founded an important project to preserve the language and culture of the Cherokee.
