About me
Spent several years in sales & marketing roles before taking two years out to do an MBA at Manchester Business School in the UK. I joined DHL as a convenient way to travel the world and along the way served my time in marketing, finance, strategic planning, change management, investor relations and internal communications.
I founded Wide Circle in 2003 as a strategic communications consultancy and we have been doing a lot of projects in the past few years with organisations going through the joys of a Merger or Acquisition. Today we work with CEOs and senior managers who believe that better results can be obtained by improving the way their organization communicates with its stakeholders. I'm also very active in IABC.
In my other life, which I invented before Second Life, I had the great privilege to perform Irish music in some of Europe's biggest theatre venues. We made a couple of albums, one of which entered the Celtic music play charts in the US at number 2 and stayed in the top 10 for six months. I mainly play for pleasure now, except when people pay me, and have found this experience great for enhancing my presentation and speaking skills. It also helps me produce audio and video podcasts.
I'm curious about how most things work, especially people! I enjoy my life and believe that each of us is responsible for our own happiness!
Oh, and I have a sense of humor!
