About me

Currently I lead the European Technology Elastomers team, an organization of 17, with the objective to increase speed to market and success rate of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. This I endeavour to achieve by strengthening the team and team skills and improving critical interfaces and processes to the immediate partners within the organization as well as to our customers. In particular QFD, well documented CTQs and regular VOCs will be focal.

Previously, I was Global Business Manager for Industrial Fine Chemicals at Honeywell. A continuous and disciplined focus on marketing excellence as well as a well managed innovation pipeline leading to significant NPI growth were key to the success in that position. I worked for two years at Honeywell and started there in 2009 as Global Marketing Manager. I acquired my Lean Six Sigma Green belt there.

Before that, I worked for Lanxess. My last position there was Innovation Management, including the identification of new products and applications. One of the main deliverables from this work was the expansion of the Technical Rubber Products portfolio by a new product line. Previously, I was responsible for two years in a row for the EVM (ethylene vinylacetate copolymer) product family, where we (a six person team and myself) achieved two digit growth to two digit margin by a close and well synchronized interaction between Marketing and R&D - as I was responsible for both. My career at Lanxess began in IT as head of the Marketing and CRM Tool department.

I have a PhD in Physics from University of Bonn, where I specialized on Microsystems Technology in the Synchrotron Radiation department. Then I worked for one year at a technology transfer company, the IMM GmbH in Mainz, executing projects in this area, and was recruited by Bayer AG as a trainee. My first station was Central Research, doing combinatorial work on Catalyst research. I worked for a time in the IT department after this, and both acquired and led technologically demanding eBusiness and Internet projects in Spain, Japan, France, Italy and Brazil.
